Child Labour Statistics
CHILD LABOUR SURVEY 1997
A state-wide survey was conducted in the year 1997 under the direction of Hon’ble Supreme Court in MC Mehta v. State of Tamil Nadu & Others (WP 465/1986). The survey was based on complete enumeration of child labourers found in both hazardous as well as non-hazardous occupations and processes. The result of the survey is as follows:
